Still compact enough to be extremely versatile, the SPEKTOR 2 already impresses with a fairly powerful bass response thanks to its larger volume. Thanks to the larger diaphragm areas of the 130 mm bass/midrange driver and the 25 mm dome tweeter, the speaker produces a higher sound pressure level that can be used to fill larger rooms. The SPEKTOR 2 also cuts an excellent figure as a front or surround speaker in a home cinema.
Somewhat larger and more voluminous than the Benjamin of the SPEKTOR series, the DALI SPEKTOR 2 already delivers a bass response that can easily fill medium-sized rooms adequately. The SPEKTOR 2 is ideal as a stereo speaker or for the front, side or rear channels of a home theatre setup. Ideally, it should be positioned on a shelf, on a stand or on the wall. A matching wall bracket is already included in the delivery.
Tweeter
The tweeter of the SPEKTOR 2 has the task of reproducing high frequencies as faithfully and precisely as possible. This can only be achieved with very short but fast diaphragm excursions – or rather: a high acceleration. This means: you need the lowest possible mass and a powerful drive.
The 25 mm diaphragm of the SPEKTOR 2 tweeter is made of an ultra-light fabric. At 0.056 mg per square millimetre, the diaphragm material used by DALI weighs less than half as much as the fabric used in most commercially available dome tweeters.
LOW-MIDRANGE SPEAKER
The proven wood-fibre diaphragms have long since established themselves as a DALI recognition feature. They consist of a mixture of fine-grained paper and a wood fibre pulp, which makes the cone very stable and particularly light, and thanks to the uneven diaphragm surface, unwanted surface resonances are reduced to a minimum.
The combination of the precisely manufactured wood-fibre cone with the low-loss vibrating beads and centring spiders enables impeccable reproduction of even the finest musical details.
WIDE DISPERSION
Thanks to their wide dispersion characteristics, DALI loudspeakers can be easily integrated into any living space. The drivers of the SPEKTOR series also meet this requirement. You will therefore experience an extremely spatial and self-contained sound image even if your seat is not within the classic stereo triangle exactly opposite the speakers.
An additional advantage of this approach is the significantly reduced harmonic distortions and refractions that negatively influence the sound compared to a reproduction designed on axis. This is also the reason why all DALI speakers should not be angled towards the listening position.
