Product Description
The ultra-compact smallest speaker in the series uses a 115 mm wood-fibre bass-midrange driver and a 21 mm fabric dome tweeter. The SPEKTOR 1 feels most at home on a shelf or on the wall and can be used both as a universal shelf speaker in home cinema systems and in conjunction with compact stereo systems.
With the SPEKTOR series, we are once again tapping into a product segment previously unknown to us: the SPEKTOR 1 hi-fi loudspeaker offers enormous sound potential at such extremely affordable prices, the likes of which DALI has never seen before.
The ultra-compact speaker, whose baffle is no larger than a DIN A5 sheet of paper, has a 115 mm bass-midrange driver with a wood-fibre cone and a 21 mm fabric dome tweeter. The SPEKTOR 1 is suitable for all applications where good sound from the smallest dimensions is required – as a front, rear or side speaker in surround systems or as a solo entertainer for compact stereo systems.
Tweeter
The tweeter of the SPEKTOR 1 has the task of reproducing high frequencies as faithfully and precisely as possible. This can only be achieved with very short but fast diaphragm excursions – or rather: a high acceleration. This means: you need the lowest possible mass and a powerful drive.
The 21 mm diaphragm of the SPEKTOR 1 tweeter is made of an ultra-light fabric. At 0.056 mg per square millimetre, the diaphragm material used by DALI weighs less than half as much as the fabric used in most commercially available dome tweeters.
LOW LOSSES
The primary task of any loudspeaker is to convert the electrical signals coming from the amplifier into as realistic a listening experience as possible. Any distortion or colouration of the original signal by the speakers or cabinets degrades the sound.
The most detailed audio signal can be achieved when only a small amount of information is lost and the reproduction is balanced in timing and over the entire frequency range, with no audible transitions between the individual drivers. By using only drivers developed by DALI and manufactured especially for us, the crossovers do not require the corrections that would otherwise be necessary.
LOW-MIDRANGE SPEAKER
The proven wood-fibre diaphragms have long since established themselves as a DALI recognition feature. They consist of a mixture of fine-grained paper and a wood fibre pulp, which makes the cone very stable and particularly light, and thanks to the uneven diaphragm surface, unwanted surface resonances are reduced to a minimum.
The combination of the precisely manufactured wood-fibre cone with the low-loss vibrating beads and centring spiders enables impeccable reproduction of even the finest musical details.

The uneven structure of the wood fibre membranes minimises annoying resoints on the surface, allowing the playback of a detailed and undistorted audio signal.
The amplifier-friendly Spector series can be combined with almost any compact Hi-Fi system, stereo full amplifier or surround receiver – and impressively shows how good music and film soundtracks can sound for little .
The dome tweeters offer the best resolution in their cl with a wide frequency range, wide radiation and low discolouration. With 0.056 mg per mm2, the membrane material weighs less than half than the fabric used in most commercially available dome tweeters.
Thanks to the drivers developed by Dali, the crossover network does not require any of the otherwise required level corrections. This is how the precision crossover made of carefully selected quality components work almost without loss.
